Set within a 25,000-hectare concession area, Tarangire River Camp is located 3.5 kilometers/2 miles from the main entrance of Tarangire National Park, overlooking a branch of the Tarangire River.

Nestled between the Maasai Steppe and the Great Rift Valley, Tarangire features the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. It is the distinct animal life of the park’s river that serves as the primary attraction. During the dry season, elephant dig deep into the riverbed while antelope congregate around the shrinking water holes, closely followed by predatory animals like lion and leopard. Tarangire is also Tanzania’s bird and baobab paradise.

A great camp to use for more medium range safaris. We like to use this camp as an alternative to the higher priced camps inside the game park. An ideal property to begin a northern circuit safari.
