Marataba Safari Lodge is a simple extension of the natural environment beyond its walls – rich, bold, organic and patently magnificent. If you sit quietly for long enough, you can feel the energy of the countless people who have made this place home since The Stone Age.
The lodge includes 15 tented suites constructed of canvas, timber and stone. Each suite has a double bed (can convert to twins), private deck, en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. Camp facilities include a lounge area with fireplace, swimming pool, hammocks, a library and bar.
Spend your days on game drives, sunset river excursions, or a private dinner in the bush! Explore the park in the company of your Field Guide, where you will learn all about the Big Five and the many unique animal species found on the Marakele National Park. The walking trails at Marataba also offer the only Malaria-free Big 5 walking trail in South Africa. The variety of terrain and vegetation makes for a unique walking experience every time you leave the camp. These are true wilderness trails, with no sign of civilization.
