The annual floods transform parts of this concession into a true water paradise, offering guests the best of both game drives and water activities. Glide through the Okavango Delta aboard a glass-bottomed canoe, watching frolicking hippos in the water and other wildlife getting a drink. At certain times of the year guests may actually enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the water visibly rising around the camp’s raised teak decks.
We love that Kanana has a variety of activities both on and off the water, as well as the sleep out deck that allows visitors to take in the stunning African sky. Kanana also has exclusive motorboat access to the largest heronries in southern africa, where you can see large numbers of herons returning from feeding and young birds with open mouths waiting for their next meal.
