Named after the Olive tree in the Turkana language, Ekorian’s Mugie Camp is set on 22,000 acres of private ranch land, home to some 70 species of mammal including lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, elephant, eland and hyena. We love that the camp takes part in the Laikipia Predator Project by finding the lions and monitoring their location and activity. In 2009, the construction of an enormous 500 meter long dam wall was completed in the heart of the sanctuary. This is Kenya’s third largest private dam.
