The Galapagos Islands, home to an incredible amount of biodiversity, is one of our favorite wildlife-based destinations worldwide. The Galápagos Islands have a stunningly diverse population of animals – wildlife that cannot be found any other place on earth. Adding to the charm of the Islands is the fact that wildlife is not shy of humans, making it very easy to get close enough for amazing experiences (and photos)!

Rothschild Safaris travelers experience a combination of land- and water-based activities in the Galapagos. Today, we’re thrilled to share with you an exciting new way to explore the islands; via private boat charter! Here’s a few good reasons to consider catamaran cruising in the Galapagos.

Several Boat Options

We offer two styles of boats; traditional motor sail catamarans and yacht catamarans. Both options offer ample space to congregate as a group, both inside and out. While both are comfortable and personalized, the sail catamarans are perfect for more adventurous travelers.

Traditional sailing catamarans include sleeping cabins that vary slightly in layout, but they all include private bathroom and shower facilities.

The modern yacht catamarans include on board jacuzzis, huge sun decks, and a private balcony for each of the spacious staterooms. Kayaks and snorkeling equipment are also available for use.

Visit More Islands in a Shorter Time

All private ships in the Galapagos Islands offer a dedicated, full crew and bilingual, expert guides to show you every detail of the islands. Particularly with a full boat charter, you have complete flexibility to explore the Galapagos on your own terms and at your own pace. The group size is very small, giving you the chance to visit more islands in a shorter time.

Your dedicated naturalist guide is there to educate you about the fascinating geology and history of the islands and ecology of the area dating back millions of years ago, when humans were beginning to emerge. We love the in-depth experience offered by these private cruises.

Ideal for Family Groups

Some catamarans have cabins with an upper bunk with a double bed below it, ideal for families or a room for kids only.

Each catamaran has two dining rooms, one on deck and the other one in the interior of the vessel. Most boats have the capacity for about 16 people, which is ideal for a multi-generational family trip or a few families traveling together!
