Machaba is the local Setswana name for the Sycamore Fig Tree, the tree of life and feature in the immediate area of this charming camp. Machaba trees are renowned for their abundant fruit, which feed a vast array of animals throughout the year, including elephant, baboons, bush buck, green pigeons and many more.

Take a step back in time as you take in the 1950s style of the camp and meander along the pathways that fall between the large riverine trees. Enjoy the peace and serenity as you glide through the water lilies in a traditional dug-out canoe (Mokoro), bask in the morning sun and get up close and personal with the smaller creatures of the bush during a guided walking safari and explore the river systems and flood plains around the camp on a game drive.
