Giraffe Manor, located in a quiet, lush suburb of Nairobi, Kenya, is one of our all-time favorite safari properties. Giraffe Manor offers travelers the opportunity to start the safari immediately upon landing in Kenya. For decades, the team behind giraffe manor has worked tirelessly alongside the AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife) researchers to preserve the Rothschild giraffe population in East Africa. AFEW is also dedicated to educating Kenya’s youth. When you visit, you’ll notice a regular flow of local schoolchildren at the visitor center for the giraffe.

About Giraffe Manor
Giraffe Manor is an exclusive boutique hotel, set in 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest in the Langata suburb of Nairobi. As one of Nairobi’s most iconic buildings, we love sharing the history of Giraffe Manor with travelers. The Manor dates back to the 1930s when European visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris. With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, you’ll feel that it’s a bit like walking into the film Out of Africa.
The most fascinating thing about Giraffe Manor is its herd of resident Rothschild giraffe. They may visit morning and evening, sometimes poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat before retreating to their forest sanctuary.
