Liz and Don recently returned from their Tanzania Safari.

 How was your travel experience?

We had a marvelous time, the accommodations were excellent, and the guides and transfers were all excellent.

What was your most memorable experience?

Safari is not just about seeing animals, it is the total experience of seeing magnificent wildlife in their natural habitat, learning about the geography of the country, and interacting with the local people as well as other travelers.

What was the biggest surprise?

The accommodations. Who knew tent camping could be so luxurious!

What advice you would give to other travelers?

Don’t try to organize a safari yourself. Rothschild made it so easy and every detail was organized. Everything was well coordinated and all of our accommodations were fabulous. The staff was great to work with and was always willing to answer our questions.

How would you rate your guides?

Chedi was wonderful. We feel so lucky that we had him for a guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals, and he shared much of his knowledge with us. Chedi’s English was very good. Emanuel was also a good guide; he had good instincts for animal movement.

Any accommodations that you really loved (or really didn’t)? Please tell us more.

All of our accommodations were fabulous and the food was good too, but the Olakira camp was the biggest surprise. Being a mobile tented camp we were not sure what to expect, but the accommodations were perfect and the food was out of this world. We enjoyed the group dinners with other travelers too. The staff in all the camps were very friendly and helpful, but the Olakira camp staff will leave a lasting impression on us.

Who would you recommend this trip to?

Everyone!
