Our very own Jessica is currently on an India safari and just sent us an update this morning on her stay in Jaipur:

Meals have definitely been a highlight, I have been wined and dined in palaces turned hotels! Dinner one evening was at the Rambagh Palace, the “Jewel of Jaipur,” where we dined outside on the lawn under the stars.  The dinner was amazing, the palace absolutely gorgeous…and just the sitting room alone in one of the suites bigger than my entire apartment in Denver!

The Rambagh Palace with its legendary Peacock Suite and Polo Bar transports guests back to a bygone era when the hotel rooms were the sanctuaries of kings and princes. Gleaming marble, intricate carvings, al fresco ceilings, luxurious silks and drapery, and magnificent gardens have truly been a feast for my eyes.

Samode Safari Lodge

On my third night in Jaipur we dined at Samode Palace.  This 475-year-old palace has a maze of bougainvillea-covered courtyards connected by quaint narrow staircases, and lounges adorned with stunning mirror work and exquisitely painted walls and ceilings.  Quite breathtaking!

Having taken in the sights, sounds and tastes of Jaipur, I am heading tomorrow to Ranthambore National Park where we have a very good chance of seeing tigers as our guide has told us that the lack of rains have driven them into the open looking for water.  Don’t worry I will take lots of photos!! More coming soon…

As we hear more from Jessica we will keep you updated on her adventures on her India safari.  This is a great time to start planning a trip for fall, which is a perfect time to travel to India – the monsoons are over and the extreme heat has subsided. We will customize a trip to meet your specific travel desires, whether it’s exploring the amazing markets, visiting the grand palaces, meandering through villages or searching for tigers on elephant-back. Our private guides can travel with you throughout your trip, providing excellent insight into the culture and history of all the sights along the way.
