Explore this safari capital of Tanzania for two nights before heading west to Tarangire National Park, an important migration corridor for Africa’s big game. Then continue towards the famed Ngorongoro Crater, eventually reaching the Serengeti. With three nights at the classic Sayari Camp, one of the few permanent safari camps located in the path of the legendary wildebeest migration. Spend one morning floating silently over the Serengeti, peering down on Africa’s wildlife from a hot air balloon, before enjoying a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Arusha, Tanzania – Arrival

Welcome to East Africa! Your journey begins with a scenic drive to the outskirts of the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. Built amongst one of the largest coffee plantations from the early 1900s, the Arusha Coffee Lodge has suites nestled among the Burka Estate coffee bushes. Bask in the African sun for the afternoon on your private terrace or perhaps take a stroll around the beautiful gardens.


Flight to Maasai Market, Cultural Heritage Center

Enjoy a day at leisure. Perhaps walk around the workings of the coffee plantation to see how the coffee is grown, harvested, dried and produced into the aromatic coffee that we drink every day. Take advantage of the opportunity to see more of the sights and sounds of Arusha. Everything you need to know about the country’s geography, history, flora, and fauna is all within a 5-minute drive from the Lodge. Discover tanzanite at the museum. Visit the Maasai Market to check out the local handicrafts or opt to visit the Arusha Cultural Heritage Center.


Tarangire National Park and Lake Burunge Sundowners

After breakfast, set out for Little Chem Chem Bush Camp, located between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks in a flourishing wildlife corridor. Arrive in time for a late lunch. After your siesta head out with your guide on an open 4×4 vehicle for an afternoon game drive, be on the lookout for elephant, leopard, lion, and cheetah, enjoy sundowner cocktails and traditional canapes as the sun sets over Lake Burunge.


Private Conservancy Game Drive, Lake Manyara Bush Lunch, and Flamingos

This morning set out for a game drive right on the Chem Chem conservancy, where you can experience prolific elephant numbers along with plenty of other wildlife. Then, head towards Lake Manyara for a delicious bush lunch alongside thousands of rose-colored flamingos. Wade slowly towards them in rubber boots or happily watch from the shore. You will arrive back at camp where a delicious evening meal will be prepared for you.


Cultural Tour and Tanzania Walking Safari

Spend your last day at Little Chem Chem tracking wildlife on foot with an armed guide. There is no better way to take in the little things than on foot, which you miss out on from the back of a safari vehicle. This afternoon after lunch and high tea, expand your cultural horizons and meet Mama Lekshoni, the youngest wife of one of the main Maasai chiefs of this area. Her sons work in the Wildlife Management Area, and she offers privileged access to her home in the local village, 40 minutes from Chem Chem Lodge. Delight in sundowners and dinner back at the camp.


Ngorongoro Highlands and Organic Farm Tour

After breakfast, take a drive through Lake Manyara National Park en-route to the lush Ngorongoro highlands. Arrive at Gibbs Farm in the late afternoon, after settling in enjoy a walk through the onsite farm. Experience a local working organic farm including over 10 acres of fruit and vegetable gardens and 30 acres of coffee. Try your hand at milking a cow while the staff answer questions about their sustainable farming methods. Enjoy a lovely dinner freshly picked from the garden this evening.


Ngorongoro Crater Full Day Game Drive

Days begin early in the bush. Just after dawn, you head out for the nearby Ngorongoro Crater either by drive or for the more adventurous on foot (which is a 6-7 hour round trip hike) to experience wildlife at its most active. The crater is a huge volcanic caldera formed about 2.5 million years ago when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself. Here you can view the Big Five in high concentration with a stunning backdrop of the crater walls. Return to Gibbs Farm for a fabulous dinner.


Serengeti Cultural Experience and Sayari Camp

After breakfast, you will be driven to the local airstrip for your short flight to the Serengeti. Views of the herds from above are spectacular. Arrive in time for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing in your extra comfortable suite or take a dip in the glorious rim-flow swimming pool with amazing views over the plains. After high tea, enjoy a personal and moving cultural experience. Join your local guide as he takes you through his home, introduces you to his family and friends and teaches you about their traditions and practices. Return to camp for a lovely dinner and lay your head to rest.


Bush Walk, Dine Under the Stars

Today is all about exploring one of Africa’s last great wilderness areas. Your expert field guide will get you up close and personal with wildlife. This may be via an open game viewing vehicle or by foot for those who want to add an extra thrill to your African adventure. Lunch will be served under the shade of the trees along the flowing river. Once you have had your fix of African wildlife for one day (if that is even possible?!) you will head back to camp for an unforgettable dining experience under the night sky.

DAY 10

Early Morning Game Drive in Serengeti, Afternoon Game Drive

This morning, rise early and set out as the sun begins to rise. This is the time of day when wildlife is most active. This is a fabulous opportunity to see the great wildebeest and zebra migration, large herds of plains game and the highest concentrate of predators in Africa! Return to camp for a full breakfast. Time for a siesta, relax in the shade or enjoy a good book. After lunch and high tea, set out for one final game drive in the Serengeti, stopping to watch the sunset with cocktails and appetizers. Return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 11

Flight to Masai Mara and the Mara North Conservancy

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip your flight to Kenya. You’ll be met and transferred to Olonana Lodge situated in the heart of Kenya’s most famous game reserve, The Masai Mara. Enjoy a lunch overlooking a dramatic river then settle into your safari tent before heading out on an evening game drive. In the conservancy, you’ll rarely see other safari vehicles as there are only a few camps in this exclusive area. Head back to camp for an elegant dinner in the middle of the African bush. After dinner, retire to the warmth of the campfire where brandies and liqueurs are served as you reflect on your memories of the day.

DAY 12

Game Drive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve

Good morning! After a pleasant cup of coffee and some light biscuits, head out towards the Masai Mara Game Reserve for a full morning in the park. As the sun rises, stop under a tree for a hot breakfast right in the bush! Continue spotting wildlife like lion, cheetah, elephant and perhaps even the elusive leopard! Return to camp in time for a late lunch and afternoon siesta. Head out for another game drive in the conservancy or opt for a guided bush walk to stretch those legs. A private and secluded clearing is prepared for your evening meal where you will dine by candlelight. Let the beauty and tranquility of the African night lure you into a peaceful slumber.

DAY 13

Hot Air Ballooning over the Masai Mara

This morning wake early for a truly once in a lifetime experience; hot air balloon ride over the Mara plains. After silently gliding over Africa’s big game for an hour, enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush. Spend the afternoon relaxing, reading and resting in camp before heading out on an afternoon bush walk. For your last evening, enjoy sundowners around the campfire followed by a traditional dinner under the stars, communal style.

DAY 14

Travel home

Today we bid farewell to Africa. You will be driven to the local airstrip where you will take a short flight back to Nairobi’s International Airport to embark on your journey back home.
