Itinerary

DAY 1

Johannesburg 

Welcome to Africa! Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the Saxon hotel in a lush neighborhood of Johannesburg. Enjoy dinner at the fabulous on-site restaurant before retiring for the evening.

DAY 2

Explore Johannesburg 

After breakfast, set out for a full day exploration of Johannesburg. Visit the Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill before heading to Josiburg Lane, a market located in a magnificent art deco building. Browse artists’ studios, graze on cheese platters, curries and traditional African eats in the hip eateries and sip on good coffee and craft beer before returning to the hotel for a restful evening. 

DAY 3

Sabi Sand Game Reserve Game Drive

Today your wildlife safari begins! Fly to the famed Kruger National Park, an ecosystem which is home to the largest concentration of wild animal species in the Southern Hemisphere, arriving at Londolozi Granite in time for lunch. This afternoon enjoy a game drive, getting up close to countless animal species (including predators, general game, reptiles, insects, and birds-a-plenty). Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

Walking Safari in Sabi Sand Game Reserve

This morning, set out on foot with an armed guide. Walking Safaris are the perfect way to forge a one-on-one connection with Africa. You’ll learn how to track game but looking at tracks and other clues and discover some of the smaller elements of the African bush that are easy to miss from a safari vehicle. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive and sundowner cocktails while the sun sets. 

DAY 5

Cape Town 

This morning, transfer to Cape Town, one of the most beloved cities in the world, arriving at the Mt. Nelson in time for lunch. This afternoon, set out with your guide for a full day exploration of Cape Town. First, head to the Cableway, a fun way to reach the top of Table Mountain, taking in the dramatic views of the city and ocean below. Continue on towards the Victoria & Alfred waterfront, stopping for lunch at the Greenmarket Square. Hop on a boat to visit Robben Island before heading back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6

Cape Town Beaches

Today, explore some of Cape Town’s most epic beaches, including Boulders Beach, Camp’s Bay, and Clifton Beach. Finally, head to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. Extending south from Cape Town is the Cape of Good Hope, the peninsula that divides the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay. Cape Point, a jagged, narrow strip of land that juts out into the Atlantic and acts as the continent’s southwestern-most point. Standing here will leave you feeling like you’ve reached the edge of the world.

DAY 7

Cape Culture 

Take a leisurely today to immerse yourself in the legendary restaurants, bars and artisanal stores of the Mother City. Explore the Mount Nelson hotel’s 119-year-old estate, the historic Company’s Gardens and downtown Cape Town, and see the city like never before. Whether your interest lies in the visual arts, architecture, cuisine or literature, this city has something to delight every visitor. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8

Cape Winelands 

After breakfast, drive into the rolling hills of the Cape Winelands. Arrive at Le Quartier in time for lunch.  Spend the afternoon exploring the area’s wineries, boutiques and galleries. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9

Full day Cape Winelands 

Today, get active in the Cape Winelands! After breakfast, set out into the mountains on horseback, taking time to appreciate the views. After lunch, hop on a bicycle to explore the charming village area before a series of afternoon wine tastings.

DAY 10

Moremi Wildlife Reserve Game Drive 

After breakfast, transfer to the other side of the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Arrive at Mombo Camp in time for lunch, and enjoy the private concession area that plays host to a breathtaking mosaic of open floodplains, waterways, marshlands, dry acacia and mopane woodland, riverine forest and open grasslands, the area is famed for its incredible numbers and diversity of wildlife, in particular predators. After lunch, set out  for an extended game drive, ending with sundowners before heading back to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 11

Game Drive, Mokoro Safari and Bush Walk 

This morning head out for an early morning game drive.  After lunch and an afternoon rest, hop into a traditional wooden canoe, called a Mokoro, for a game experience on the water. As you glide silently through the waterways, watch elephant drink, birds fishing for their dinner and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a predator on the banks. After high tea, experience the thrill of walking in the bush! Accompanied by an armed guide, walk slowly from camp, learning more about tracking the wildlife and big game that surrounds camp. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 12

Bush Breakfast and Leopard Tracking 

This morning, set out on a morning game drive around camp. End the morning adventure with a hot breakfast served out in the bush. After a restful afternoon in camp, set out with a specialist guide to track leopard. Learn more about these elusive creatures as you follow their tracks. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 13

Zambezi River Cruise

This morning, fly onward to Victoria Falls. Arrive at  Royal Chundu Lodge in time for a late lunch. This evening, sit back, relax and take in the surrounding views of the great Zambezi river aboard a small boat. From this unique vantage point, view bird life and wildlife up-close on the islands along the river.

DAY 14

Victoria Falls Scenic Flight and Tour

Today, explore the largest sheet of falling water in the world! Board a helicopter for a scenic flight one the falls. Viewing the spectacular Victoria Falls from the air is one of the most breath-taking and exhilarating activities in Africa! Afterwards, enjoy a private guided tour of the mighty ‘Smoke That Thunders.’ Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 15

Nairobi, Kenya

This morning fly north to Kenya. Keep your eyes open for your first wildlife sightings as you land in Nairobi, as you will fly directly over Nairobi National Park, immediately adjacent to the airport. After you clear customs, you’ll be transferred to the lush, green Nairobi suburb of Karen and the iconic Giraffe Manor. Settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner before drifting to sleep.

DAY 16

Flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve and Mara Plains Camp

After breakfast, head to the most iconic wildlife destination on the planet; the Masai Mara. Mara Plains, located on the 35,000 acre private Olare Motorogi Conservancy which lies on the northern border of the Masai Mara National Reserve, offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Kenya without any crowds. After lunch and high tea, set out on a game drive with one of the amazing guides. These guides are intimately in tune with the wildlife in and around camp, so in addition to spotting wildlife will share with you stories of specific prides of lion, the elusive local leopard and resident elephant as well. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 17

Masai Mara Game Reserve, Day & Night Game Drives

Wake up early to experience the vast number of wildlife species in the area. Return to camp for lunch, served on the wooden deck overlooking the plains. Relax this afternoon before heading out for an evening drive, stopping to watch the sun set under a soaring Acacia tree before returning to camp for a gourmet dinner and overnight.

DAY 18

Masai Mara Game Reserve, Game Drive & Hot Air Balloon Ride

This morning, wake early for a truly once in a lifetime experience; hot air balloon ride over the Mara plains. After silently gliding over Africa’s big game for an hour, enjoy a champagne breakfast in the bush. Spend the afternoon relaxing, reading and resting in camp before heading out on an evening game drive. This is a fabulous way to learn about and view Africa’s nocturnal game. Return to camp for a late dinner and overnight.

DAY 19

Travel home 

After breakfast, fly back to Nairobi and transfer to the international airport to connect with your flight home.
