Upon arrival in Sydney you will be met and privately transferred to the Park Hyatt for three nights, a favorite spot to begin many of our Australia outback tours. Situated on Sydney’s waterfront, the Park Hyatt offers stunning views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge.
Sydney, Vintage Cars & Café Culture
After breakfast, you will be met by your private guide and experience Sydney in an old Holden EH vintage vehicle – an iconic Australian car. This is a unique way to become a local in a day and gain deeper insight into Australian culture and the surrounding sights. Explore various areas, café culture, outdoor culture, and perhaps a secret beach or two along the Sydney Harbour foreshore.
Sydney, Sydney Opera House & Harbor Sail
Today, enjoy Sydney at your leisure before a guided tour of the iconic and breathtaking Sydney Opera House. On your essential Opera House Tour, see inside the world’s most recognizable sails – a work of art that came into existence against impossible odds and now stands proud as one of the busiest performing arts centers in the world.
In the afternoon, kick back and join skipper Colin for a sail through one of the world’s most stunning harbors on board your private yacht ‘Emma Mei’!
Flight to Adelaide and Arkaba Station
Today you will fly to Adelaide and on to Arkaba Station in the Flinders Ranges for three nights at a working sheep station. Travel through the picturesque countryside and historic villages into the Clare Valley and visit a couple of the local wineries, before continuing your journey northward into the Flinders Ranges, while enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.
Flinders Ranges, Oratunga Track & Sunset Over the Flinders
Today take a rugged 4-wheel drive tour along the Oratunga Track – a 50 km long dirt road which is a thrilling excursion for 4WD enthusiasts, nature lovers, photographers, history buffs and anyone with an interest in geology. Mobs of kangaroos, emus and other abundant wildlife delight guests in open-top safari vehicles through the spectacular ancient landscape. Chief wildlife warrior and property manager Brendon will take you to the top of one of the many hills near the station to experience sunset over the often-desolate landscape. Watch everything transform into a mesmerizing panorama in the changing light, whilst sipping on your sundowner.
Australia Outback Tours – Flinders Ranges, Scenic Flight
Perhaps you might choose to take a scenic flight (at an additional cost) to show you the Flinders Ranges from above. Viewed from the air, the Flinders Ranges appear as gigantic bowls formed by bent and distorted rows of hills and mountains resembling the back of a prehistoric crocodile.
Flight to Adelaide and Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island
This morning you will fly back to Adelaide and on to Kangaroo Island. You will spend three nights at the Southern Ocean Lodge. Floating atop a secluded cliff on a rugged stretch of coast, the lodge commands peerless views of the wild Southern Ocean and pristine Kangaroo Island wilderness.
Kangaroo Island, Wildlife Tour & Nocturnal Adventure
After breakfast, spend the morning exploring the wonders of Kangaroo Island. This half day signature experience is a spectacular introduction to the island’s wildlife, maritime heritage and stunning coastal landscapes. A cornerstone experience on Rothschild Australia outback tours include the Cape du Couedic lighthouse, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and a fur seal colony. Relax and enjoy the afternoon at the lodge spa. This evening, visit the Hanson Bay Sanctuary to discover a world that comes to life after dark. Kangaroo Island, Seal Bay
Enjoy the morning at your leisure before perhaps exploring the delights of Seal Bay. Seal Bay is home to Australia’s third largest colony of Australian sea lions. Join our naturalist guide for an exclusive tour on the beach with these wild animals. Learn about their unique breeding cycle and the ongoing research programs implemented on site.
Flight to Cairns and Shangri-La The Marina
After breakfast, transfer back to Adelaide where you will connect with your flight to Cairns and a night at the Shangri-La, The Marina.
Flight to Lizard Island and Lizard Island Resort
Our Australia outback tours continue as you fly to Lizard Island, where you will spend the next four nights at the Lizard Island Resort. Situated some 240 kilometers north of Cairns, Lizard Island is surrounded by a sea of deep aquamarine and forms part of the Great Barrier Reef near its northernmost end. The beautiful Lizard Island Resort is balanced high above the Coral Sea and set on the point at Sunset Ridge.
Lizard Island, Anchor & Watsons Bay
Your time at Lizard Island is spent relaxing & enjoying the spectacular Great Barrier Reef. The beaches are plentiful, 24 in all, with fine powdery white sand, undisturbed but for the occasional footprints. Enjoy secluded picnics on a private beach or take in a visit to Anchor and Watson’s bay by catamaran or glass bottom paddle ski.
Lizard Island, Explore the Depths of the Bay
Naturally many of the options on Lizard Island involve the water. Snorkeling equipment and lessons are provided. You can snorkel off a secluded beach to discover a garden of giant clams, many a meter long and some reputed to be 120 years old. For those wanting to explore a little deeper beneath the waves, you can dive the famous Cod Hole, one of the world-famous dive sites just a short boat ride away, where you’ll come face to face with the massive, curious Potato Cod.
