It all began, as many of the best stories do, with a surprise phone call.

Rothschild Safaris, the man said, had been chosen as one of 100 suppliers preferred by the Rolls Royce Owner and Enthusiast’s Clubs to appear in an exceptional book they will share as part of Bentley’s centenary.

Then, on a Friday afternoon in June, Susanna Cloete-Jones, the Rothschild Safaris Brand and Communications Manager, and her husband Grumpy whooshed into London (by train and not by Bentley unfortunately) to attend the official book launch.

The afternoon was a whirl of answering the question, ‘Which Rolls Royce/ Bentley do you own?’ (uhm… none actually) and ‘Is your company in the Book?’ (of course! We are the preferred Safari Operator – find us on p. 375).

As one might expect of a major book launch for owners of Rolls Royce and Bentley marques the champagne flowed freely and the nibbles were delectable. From caviar to scones with clotted cream! The coffee wasn’t half bad either (served in beautifully dainty porcelain cups).

The book itself is quite the lifestyle (of the rich and famous) guide! As a Rothschild Safaris guest and reader, you may sneak a peek at the online version of it here.

Exploring the Extraordinary: 100 Years of Bentley Motors

A new publication entitled Exploring the Extraordinary: 100 Years of Bentley Motors was launched in the Great Room at Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, central London on Friday, June 7th.

This beautifully designed, 432-page hardback book has been produced by two of the world’s most prestigious car clubs – the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club (RREC) and the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club (RROC) – alongside leading publisher St James’s House. Written by an editorial team of experts, aficionados and tastemakers the publication charts Bentley’s 100 years of groundbreaking design and engineering. It also celebrates the marque’s status as one of the world’s leading names in luxury motoring.

In keeping with the launch’s impressive setting, a collection of Bentley motor cars were on display at the Grosvenor House Hotel event.

In addition, to resonate with the book’s theme of luxury, a carefully curated selection of high-end brands were also present, enabling the 800+ attendees to immerse themselves in a world of luxurious tastes, products, and experiences.

Richard Freed, CEO of St James’s House, said: “What better way to launch this wonderful book than with a celebration of the finer things in life? We are all very excited about what promises to be an event to remember.”

Then it was back to our suite at the Grosvenor to don our black-tie attire. We felt like royalty and the evening was a blur of speeches, more incredible food and lovely cocktails and wine.

The ballroom at the Grosvenor is a very special space and it is difficult to imagine a better venue for celebrating this lovely honor surrounded by US$25,000,000 worth of automobiles!

We only wish ALL the Rothschild Safaris ladies could have joined in the festivities.

If you are a Rothschild Safaris guest, do remember to tell your friends that your preferred Safari Operator is also preferred by the RREC and the RROC.

Feel free to employ your best British accent and maybe add a ‘Ladidaaa’. 🥳

And if you own a Rolls Royce or a Bentley – let us know which one!
