This is a unique experience and opportunity to connect with nature, the elements and the way things once were. No roads, no technology, just you, your guide, a small group and a string of magical moments in touch with nature as you chart a course along the Selinda Spillway and head into the remote woodlands of the vast 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve over a course of five days.

Governed by the availability of sufficient water in the Selinda Spillway, there are two distinct adventures here for you to enjoy. Depending on water levels at the time of your arrival, we will offer either a canoeing (no previous experience is needed) and walking experience, or a purely guided walking experience. Over the five days the walking distance is just over 20 km/12 miles and canoeing is approximately 40km/25 miles with the opportunity to observe some of Botswana’s largest herds of buffalo and elephant, the rare African wild dog and the roan antelope. Other possible sightings include cheetah, lion, leopard and variety of other species.

All four nights are spent in fly camps along the Selinda Spillway at pre-arranged sites with bucket showers with hot and cold water available. Guests are not expected to put up their tent or help with the cooking and camp chores; The evenings are yours to enjoy a drink as you watch the day roll out, share stories around the campfire or listen to the lions roar in the distance, and the orchestra of Africa’s smaller creatures.

We recommend you spend a night or two after you have completed the Selinda Adventure Trail at either Selinda Explorers Camp or Selinda Camp.
