Manyara Ranch Conservancy is a pioneering project blending habitat conservation with tourism for the benefit of local communities. The first of its kind to be established in Tanzania, it covers an area of 35,000 acres in size. It lies in the migration corridor of Tarangire and Manyara, home to over 50 species of mammals and 400 birds. Originally set up as a cattle ranch, the property still has some beef cattle and sheep.

Situated right next to Tarangire National Park, the conservancy is an intimate and undisturbed safari destination. Across the lake lies Lake Manyara National Park. A private and exclusive wilderness experience, visitors can expect to see a wide range of wild animals and birds. The novelty here is seeing animals up close and on foot with no disturbance from other vehicles or people.

We like to use this camp at the beginning of a safari, when people are interested in getting out of the vehicle and doing guided walks. This camp is a good option for families that have kids who want to interact with local Maasai, get a chance to see animals at night on game drives, and also get educated on conservation and tourism initiatives.
