Kuro Tarangire is set amid a grove of Acacia and Kigelia trees on the banks of the Tarangire River – often a dry, sandy course snaking through this quiet area of the park. The area sees the rhythmic movement of wildlife as it traverses the park from the hills in the west to the swamps on the eastern side, and between the north and the south along the river line.
Wake in the morning and begin your safari with a walk straight from camp in search of the evidence of the night’s activities. There is something special about placing one’s own foot within the print of an elephant, or kneeling to cradle the nest of a praying mantis, glistening with dew. Later in the day you will climb into the open safari vehicle in anticipation of what’s to be discovered, taking in the beauty of this park known for its large elephant herds and beautiful baobab trees. Back to camp in time for a bush dinner, gather in the communal open-sided lounge and dining area to swap stories of the day’s animal sightings and enjoy pre-dinner cocktails around a roaring bush fire.
Full with delicious, tasty treats you will then have the option to head out at night to witness the elusive creatures that choose to come out after dark.
