Ishasha Wilderness Camp is situated within the Southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe river, and is an idyllic retreat for people who truly enjoy the wilderness. This exclusive camp offers superb quality accommodation and services in this unspoilt remote sector of the park famous for its tree-climbing lions that can sometimes be spotted resting in the branches of the large fig trees.

Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda’s western rift valley is the largest and the most varied. The lakes throughout the park are a natural highlight along with the dramatic volcano landscape. The density of animals in the game park is phenomenal, including buffalo, elephant, lion, and leopard. There are an impressive 612 species of birds. Additionally, this park is diverse in its habituated chimpanzee population, which can be found in the depth of the forests.

This is a go to property for those exploring Uganda as it fits quite nicely as a stopover before Bwindi. This is the only higher standard camp in the Ishasha area to see the tree-climbing lions and a great base to go see animals. Uganda is unique in its ability to deliver on traditional safari animals, chimpanzees, and trekking mountain gorillas.
