When the Crosser family completed their Safari to Africa we quickly knew the parents enjoyed the trip.
April Crosser wrote to us and started with:
Our trip was literally perfect! It was worth the wait! From every transfer, meal, lodge (omg…Singita!), to every game drive, tracker, guide, flight, village visit, soccer match and Falls visit. Even the beautiful weather in Cape Town was flawless! I can’t thank you enough for your planning expertise! I’m already dreaming of our next trip. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about this one. 🇿🇦🦁🧡
What you are about to read is the unfiltered opinion of Western children on the matter of taking a Family Safari to Africa.
RS: What do you think is the biggest difference between kids who grow up in Africa and the way you grew up?
The number of different opportunities that we have compared to what it seems like the kids in the village will have.
The kids we saw in Zambia grow up much poorer than we grow up.
RS: Name your favorite and least favorite amongst the animals you encountered on Safari:
My favorite animal was an elephant. My least favorite animal was a warthog.
My favorite animal was the cheetah. My least favorite animal was the hyena.
RS: What was the biggest surprise about Africa (something you thought would be different before you traveled here)
My biggest surprise was how close we could get to the animals! So amazing!
The biggest surprise was when we landed on the dirt in the tiny airplane. I had never expected that!
RS: Did anything scare you in or about Africa?
Nothing really scared me in Africa.
No! I felt safe because our guides were amazing.
RS: Would you like to visit the Dark Continent again?
That would be awesome!
RS: Did you try any new food?
I tried all different kinds of soups at the lodges, sushi in Cape Town, and impala tartare.
The sushi was amazing in Cape Town. I had Kudu. The food was so good.
RS: Now that you are back home – what about Africa do you miss the most?
I miss the culture of Africa!
I definitely miss the animals the most about Africa.
Don’t you just love their honesty and enthusiasm?
April Crosser continued to write to us:
It was an amazing adventure. I literally cried when we left Kruger to head home. Everything was planned so perfectly. We always felt safe and very well taken care of. It was an incredible experience. Pam did an amazing job of understanding what would work for my family and planned things that my kids enjoyed as well. She is the best and I’ll definitely want to use her to go to East Africa someday! It was the life-changing trip of a lifetime! We loved it and loved planning it with Rothchilds Safaris!
We can’t wait to see and hear what they think of East Africa!
