Our fondest memories often echo throughout our lives.
Claudia first set foot on African soil 25 years ago, on a backpacking trip after her graduation from University. Whilst on a walking safari in the Okavango Delta she had her first of many memorable experiences: she accidentally stumbled upon a male lion who had been enjoying an afternoon snooze. He was just as frightened as she was and with a roar ran off into the bush. When she then fell asleep under the stars with the sounds of hyena’s calling in the distance, she was sure: I am staying here. So she rang home (the Netherlands) the following day and informed everyone there that she would not be returning. And so started a career in tourism.
She found a job as an expedition guide and for five years lead small groups not only through Southern and Eastern Africa, but also throughout South America. She spent several years in the UK allowing her to explore Europe before returning to Africa.
Now residing in the Netherland, Claudia spends every holiday somewhere in Africa, with her three children.
