    DAY 1 TRAVEL DAY – TO INDIA

    Your safari begins today as you board your international flight to Africa.


    DAY 2 DELHI

    Welcome to India! Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Taj Mahal Hotel, for your one night stay.

    About Taj Mahal Hotel: Reflects the heritage of Mughal Delhi. This hotel is also a city landmark, located in close proximity to Delhi’s major attractions.

    Camp Type & Location: Hotel located in the heart of New Delhi, in the exclusive residential area of Lutyens’ Delhi.

    Guest Accommodations: 294 en-suite rooms, including 27 suites, each luxuriously appointed with the latest modern comforts, including internet, telephone and air conditioning.

    New Delhi, the capital of India, is a modern buzzing metropolitan city with remnants of the past strewn around the modern buildings. Delhi is the largest metropolis by area and the second-largest by population in India, next to Mumbai. Apart from being the capital of India, Delhi is also the travel hub of northern India. It serves as an excellent base for visiting the colorful state of Rajasthan, and Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, is less than three hours away.

    DAYS 3, 4, 5, 6 KANHA NATIONAL PARK

    After breakfast, you will be met in the hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Jabalpur. On arrival in Jabalpur, you will be met by your guide and assisted to your vehicle for a, scenic 4-hour transfer to Kanha National Park. During your drive, take in the sights and sounds of India. You will have plenty of time to stop at local village’s en-route, for some curio shopping and interaction with the locals.

    This afternoon, you will arrive at Singinawa Lodge, where you will enjoy you next four nights.

    About the Singinawa Jungle Lodge: The lodge offers the chance to not only learn about the tiger and its habitat but to also experience ecologically responsible tourism and see conservation at work benefitting local communities and the Tiger Reserve.

    Camp Type & Location: Lodge located in the heart of Kanha National Park

    Guest Accommodations: 12 charming, secluded cottages with en-suite bathroom facilities, rain shower, private verandah and fireplace.

    Activities: Morning & afternoon game drives in Kanha National Park

    Optional Activities: Elephant back safari, cultural tours and visits to the local market (cost available on request).

    Wildlife: Kanha shelters one of the largest populations of the tigers in the country. Some of the other larger animal species found in the park are sloth bear, leopard, stripped hyena, spotted dear, wild boar, jungle cat, jackal and a variety of monkeys. Over 200 spices of birds have been spotted in the park as well.

    About Kanha National Park

    Prime tiger wilderness, Kanha National Park was one of the first areas to be protected under Project Tiger, aimed at preserving this magnificent animal, and remains a renowned conservation area. This picturesque reserve boasts the ideal habitat for both tigers and their prey species. Lush sal and bamboo forests are interspersed with vast grassy meadows known as maidans, while the Banjaar River, which forms the park’s south-western border, provides a steady water source for the abundant wildlife.

    DAY 7 MUMBAI

    Early this morning, you will embark another scenic 5-hour drive to Raipur Airport for your scheduled flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival in Mumbai, you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Trident Hotel for the evening.

    About Trident Bandra Kurla: Located 20 minutes from the airport and has easy access to the entertainment, shopping and recreation centres,

    DAY 8 UDAIPUR

    This morning, you will be met in the hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Udaipur. On arrival in Udaipur, you will spend two nights at the magnificent Taj Lake Palace Hotel!

    Relax and unwind at the Lake Palace after checking in. Enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure.

    About Taj Lake Palace: The palace was built in 1746 by Maharana Jagat Singh II, 62nd successor to the royal dynasty of Mewar – believed to be descendants of the Sun God.

    Camp Type & Location: Hotel located in the middle of Lake Pichola set again the backdrop of the Aravalli Mountains.

    Guest Accommodations: Each of the 66 rooms and 17 suites are en-suite and offer stunning views over the surrounding city.

Narrow streets lined with vividly colored stalls, gardens, temples and palaces mirrored in the placid blue waters of Lake Pichola, add to the magic of Udaipur.

    DAY 9 UDAIPUR

    Today you will be taken for guided sightseeing tours of Udaipur. Your tours include a visit Eklingji & Nagda Temples and Saheliyon-ji-Bari, which are architectural marvels.

    In the afternoon visit the City Palace of Udaipur, a fascinating combination of Rajput military architecture and Mughal style decorative techniques.

    DAY 10 JAIPUR

    After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airport for your scheduled flight to Jaipur. Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Jai Mahal Hotel for your two night stay. This afternoon, visit the City Palace, Observatory and the Palace of Winds.

    About Jai Mahal Palace: This Palace dates back to 1745 A.D.

    Camp Type & Location: Hotel located in downtown Jaipur, within close proximity to the main shopping centres and historical monuments.

    Guest Accommodations: 100 rooms, including 6 suites, all en-suite set amidst 18 acres of beautifully landscaped Moghul gardens. Colonial style furniture, miniature paintings, gold-hued silks and stylish bathrooms offer contemporary comfort with a regal touch.

    About Jaipur

    Founded in 1728 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, Jaipur is where modernity and tradition exist side by side. The walled city, vibrant with colors, houses the City Palace, an astronomical observatory and bustling bazaar where artisans fashion puppets, silver jewelry, lac bangles and other handicrafts in their workshops.

    DAY 11 JAIPUR

    In the morning, visit the stunning Amber Fort, built all in white marble and red sandstone. The afternoon is yours at leisure and to enjoy curio shopping. Enjoy the opportunity to take a ‘tuk tuk’ ride, the local transport through the markets, it is guaranteed to be a memory you will never forget!

    This afternoon, you will be driven about 30-45 minutes to Kukas Village in the Amber forest valley, where beautifully decorated elephants await your arrival with a beautiful wood howdah that has decorative brass motifs. Here the elephant and his mahout welcome guests and your elephant back safari begins! Each elephant carries two persons. The route winds through the riverbed, at time camouflaged by elephant grass. The elephants then take a route through a series of farms and fields, passing a few quiet villages tucked away in the countryside.

    After your elephant safari, you will be transfer back to the Jai Mahal Palace to enjoy you evening at leisure.

    DAY 12 AGRA

    After breakfast, you will be met in the hotel lobby for your 6-hour scenic drive to Agra with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri. This historical city was constructed by Mughal emperor Akbar in the 16th century and served as the empire’s capital from 1571 until 1585. This building is a fine example of a Mughal walled city with defined private public areas and imposing getaways. Its architecture, a blend of Hundu and Islamic styles, reflects Akbars secular vision as well as his style of governance.

    This evening, experience a breath-taking view of the Taj Mahal at sunset. Said to be one of the most elegant and harmonious buildings in the world, Taj Mahal is the manifestation of the wealth and luxury of Mughal art as see in its architecture, garden design, painting and calligraphy.

    About Trident Agra Hotel: The Hotel is built of red stone reminiscent of the Mughal era.

    Camp Type & Location: Hotel located, literally a stone’s throw away from the Taj Mahal

    About Agra
    The city of Agra flourished under the patronage of the emperors Akbar, Jahangir and Shan Jahan, and attracted artisans from Persia and central Asia. Agra is where Emperor Shah Jahan engraved his immortal love for his Empress in marble, the Taj Mahal. Agra is still famous for handicraft products, such as inlay work on marble, carpets, jewellery, zari and embroidery work.

    DAY 13 DELHI

    This morning you will enjoy a tour of the Taj Mahal at sunrise. You also will visit the Agra Fort which is the most important fort in India, as all the great Mughal rulers lived here. Later this afternoon, you will be transferred by road back to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Taj Mahal Hotel for one night.

    DAY 14 VARANASI

    After breakfast this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi, you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Radisson Hotel for your one night stay.

    DAY 15 YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

    Early this morning, you may enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges seeing the life on the “ghats.”

    In the afternoon you will be transferred to the Varanasi airport to connect to your late afternoon flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, your India safari comes to an end as you are transferred to the Trident Gurgaon Hotel where you will have a day use room to freshen up and relax before being transferred to the Delhi International airport for your international flight back to the USA.

    Booking Conditions

    Rothschild Safaris: Terms and Conditions applicable on all tours. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

    Deposit Requirements: 20% per person deposit is required to confirm the booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

    Currency Exchange Rates: Due to the volatility of currency markets, we can only offer the most competitive pricing on our India tours by tying these costs directly to the value of the Indian Rupee. This is calculated based on an in-house exchange rate of 1.0 Indian Rupee to 0.018 USD. Approximately 90 days prior to your safari, we finalize the cost of your tour and make any necessary changes to the price on the final invoice. Generally, price changes are not necessary.
