A day on safari is “wildly” different from your ordinary, day-to-day life. Below is an insider’s look at what you can expect while in the bush, from transfers between camps and lodges to game viewing activities. Your routine may vary slightly, as our aim is to custom design each individual trip, tailored to your passions and interests.
DAY 1
| 09h00: | Welcome to Africa! Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport by our representative. After you have collected your belongings, you will be transferred to the first camp on your safari (either by light aircraft or by road). |
| 12h00: | You will arrive to your camp around lunch time, where you will be served a delicious lunch. |
| 13h00: | Shortly after you will be introduced to your guide, who will be taking care of you during your stay at that particular lodge/camp. Together, you will be given a safety talk by camp management to discuss the area, wildlife and bush etiquette. After your meal you will have time to unpack your bags or enjoy some leisure time the main deck of the lodge/camp. |
| 16h00: | Meet for tea/coffee and cake after which you will embark on your first game drive |
| 20h00: | Return back to camp for dinner and your first night in the bush! |
DAY 2
| 05h30: | Wake to the sound of total serenity. Gaze beyond your mosquito net to see Africa’s version of breakfast in bed. A tray of coffee or English Tea and scone have been delivered to your room as your “wake up call” before your morning game drive. |
| 06h00: | Dressed and ready for your first full day in the bush, meet you guide at the main lodge. Head out on your morning game drive (bush walk or mokoro excursions available at some camps). |
| 11h00: | Having worked up your appetite all morning, return to the camp for a full English breakfast at your leisure. |
| 13h30: | Lunch time followed by the afternoon at leisure, enjoy a siesta, a dip in the pool or relax at the main deck with a book (some camps have waterholes nearby where you can sit and watch the wildlife). |
| 16h00: | Meet for tea/coffee and cake after which you will embark on your afternoon game drive (some camps allow night drives which means you return after dark with spotlight). During your game drive your guide will find a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a drink of your choice (called a sundowner), a very special time in the bush! |
| 20h00: | Enjoy dinner back at your camp or a special surprise location! |
DAY 3
| 05h30: | Wake up call, enjoy coffee/tea in bed. |
| 06h00: | Meet in the main lodge to head out on your morning game drive (or other activity offered at your camp/lodge). |
| 11h00: | You return to camp for a full English breakfast at your leisure. |
| 12h30: | Gather your belongings, bid farewell to the wonderful camp staff then you head to the airstrip with your guide for your light air (bush flight) to your next camp, a flight of approximately 30 to 45 minutes (dependent on where you are flying to). |
| 13h30: | Arrive at your next camp, meet your guide who takes you to the camp for lunch, followed by the afternoon at leisure, enjoy a siesta, a dip in the pool or relax at the main deck with a book (some camps have waterholes nearby where you can sit and watch the wildlife). |
