Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park in northwestern Rwanda is one of the best and most accessible places to see endangered mountain gorillas and was the base for famed gorilla researcher Diane Fossey. The park’s steep, dramatic rainforest covered Virunga Mountains are also home to rare golden monkeys and elusive populations of buffalo and elephant.
