     DAY 1 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    Welcome to Africa! On arrival in Lusaka, Zambia, you will be met by our representative and assisted to your light aircraft fight to Mfuwe. On arrival in Mfuwe, you will guide and transferred to Flatdogs Camp, approximately a 40 minute drive, where you will enjoy your next three nights.

    About Flatdogs Camp: Strive to keep their camp as natural as possible, encouraging large numbers of game to wander through camp at leisure.
    Accommodation Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp located in the Luangwa Valley
    Guest Accommodations: Six luxury en-suite safari tents, each with hot shower and flush toilet
    Activities: Morning and night game drives and guided walking safaris.
    Wildlife: This floodplain ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife, including puku, impala, zebra, eland, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, lion and hyena. Night game drives often provide sightings of leopard, mongoose, hyena, jackal, civet and genet.

    About the South Luangwa National Park:
    For wildlife and wildlife-lovers, it doesn’t get any better than the South Luangwa National Park. With its verdant floodplains rustling with huge herds game, mopane woodlands and indigenous hardwood forests filled with over 400 species of birds and a might river that attracts animal like a magnet, it’s a natural utopia and one of Africa’s truly great wildlife sanctuaries.

    DAY 2 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    Rise early and meet for an early breakfast before heading into the park for your morning of game viewing.

    Return to camp just after 10:00am for a hearty breakfast and siesta. You will then meet with your guide around 3:30pm for tea and biscuits before heading out on your afternoon game drive. Your drive will continue into the early evening look for some of the area’s nocturnal animals – lion, leopard, hyena, fishing own, honey badger and genet. You will return to camp at 8:00pm in time for dinner!

    DAY 3 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    This morning, try out your first walking safari!

    In between game viewing activities, you can relax by the pool or spend your time visiting some of the surrounding areas, such as Mfuwe, with the opportunity to visit a local school to interact with the children.

    Return to the park around 4:00pm for a night game drive before returning to camp for dinner.

    DAY 4 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer this morning to the first of the Chikoko Trails’bushcamps, enjoying game viewing en-route.

    Because the bushcamps are situated in an area where there are no roads, the final part of your transfer will be on foot. A guide and tracker will escort you from the vehicle. Porters will be on hand to collect of your luggage and assist you to camp.

    Situated on an old river bank overlooking a large and usually dry ox-bow lagoon, you will reach Crocodile River Camp in time to settle in to your room before lunch. After this afternoon, after tea and cake, you will set out on an afternoon walks, returning to camp at dusk to enjoy sundowner refreshments. Dinner will be served out under the starts with your guide and fellow guests.

    About Chikoko Crocodile River Camp: Offers the only true walking safari in the South Luangwa
    Accommodation Type & Location: Bushcamp located in the South Luangwa National park
    Guest Accommodations: Three chalets, with en-suite bathroom facilities, all resting beneath a grove of Muchenja trees
    Activities: Guided walking safaris
    Wildlife: This floodplain ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife, including puku, impala, zebra, eland, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, lion and hyena. Night game drives often provide sightings of leopard, mongoose, hyena, jackal, civet and genet.

    DAY 5 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    This morning, sit and watch the zebra, impala and warthog drinking at the waterholes as the sunrises. Morning walks start early to avoid the heat of the day. The pace is generally leisurely as the guide will stop and talk about points of interest as you go. Ample drinking water is provided and there is also a mid-way stop for tea/coffee brewed over an open fire, giving you time to relax and enjoy your surrounds.

    It is common to enjoy good sightings of leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and zebra, as well as Thornicroft giraffe. Kudu ad roan antelope are frequently sighted and huge herds of buffalo are abundant in these parts.

    DAY 6 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

    After breakfast and your morning walk, you will transfer to Chikoko Tree Camp for your final night in Africa!

    As before, you luggage will be transferred across by porters and will be waiting for you in your chalets on arrival. The chalets at Chikoko Tree Camp are built three meters off the ground in the tree canopy affording outstanding views out onto the Acacia Plains.

    Enjoy your afternoon walk further exploring the area. Observe elephant, impala, waterbuck and puku grazing. Marvel at the ability for even the largest elephants to blend into their surroundings. Return to camp in time for sundowners and dinner.

    Guest Accommodations: Three rustic, two-storied reed chalets, with en-suite bathroom facilities
    Activities: Guided walking safaris
    Wildlife: This floodplain ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife, including puku, impala, zebra, eland, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, lion and hyena. Night game drives often provide sightings of leopard, mongoose, hyena, jackal, civet and genet.

    DAY 7 YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

    Your last morning walk will take you to the river crossing where you will be transferred to a waiting vehicle and game viewing drive back to Mfuwe Airport for your return flight to Lusaka. On arrival in Lusaka, it is time for farewells with memories that will last a lifetime!

    Deposit Requirements: 20% per person deposit is required to confirm the booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
