    DAYS 1 & 2 VICTORIA FALLS

    ILALA LODGE OPTION:

    Today you arrive to Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Ilala Lodge for your two night stay.

    About Ilala Lodge: Ilala Lodge offers distinguished yet affordable accommodation in warm elegant surroundings. The décor evokes an era of early adventure and the quest for discovery in Africa. The hotel is ideally situated being the closest to the mighty Victoria Falls as well as the town centre. The National Park borders the front of the property and wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns, with the spray of the falls in the background.

    Camp Type & Location: Boutique Hotel situated on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, it is the closest hotel to the Victoria Falls.

    Guest Accommodations: 32 spacious, standard rooms and 2 deluxe suites all with en-suite bathroom facilities and separate shower. Patio doors lead either onto open lawn or a balcony where you are afforded a view of the spray of the falls from the upper level rooms.

    Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya” — the smoke that thunders and the Falls are remarkable. Victoria Falls is 1,708 meters wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. It drops between 90m and 107m into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 550,000 cubic meters of water plummet over the edge every minute.

    Overnight: Ilala Lodge (B)

    TONGABEZI LODGE OPTION:

    Today you arrive to Zambia’s Livingstone Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to Tongabezi Lodge for your two night stay.

    About Tongabezi Lodge: Privately owned and run. Each house and cottage has its own valet who takes care of guests throughout their stay and act as a private concierge. There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi.

    Camp Type & Location: Luxury Safari Lodge near Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River.

    Guest Accommodations: There are 2 types of accommodations. 5 Houses: located on the edge of the Zambezi River, the houses are open fronted looking out onto the Zambezi, at night a mosquito net is hung around your bed, this is the ultimate way to sleep in Africa. All houses have private en-suite bathrooms. For those who are nervous to sleep in the open fronted rooms there are the cottages – 5 River Cottages, these are close-fronted with gauze netting in the windows, however you still get to hear the sounds of the bush at night. Cottages have private en-suite bathrooms.

    Activities: Included in the cost: Tour of the falls, canoeing on the Zambezi, Island lunch, Sanpan floating candlelit dinner, visit to Mukuni Park, sunrise & sunset boating, Simonga village visit, fishing, game drive into Mosi-oa-Tunya and market visits. Activities available at the falls but not included in your cost are: Livingstone Island visit, white water rafting, helicopter and microlight flights over Victoria Falls, horse rides, fly fishing, day visit to Chobe National Park, all adrenalin activities: gorge swing, bungie, jet boating, kayaking.

    RIVER CLUB OPTION:

    Today you arrive to Zambia’s Livingstone Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to River Club for your two night stay.

    About River Club:Privately owned and run. The impressive Edwardian-style entertainment area has high plantation ceilings, converted from the original farmhouse built in 1948. The large dining room can seat all guests at one sitting at the impressively long teak dining table although most meals tend to be served outside on the elegant terrace or poolside. Enjoy the fireplace, library and gorgeous swimming pool.

    Hotel Type & Location: Intimate lodge located on a magnificent vantage point, with stunning views over a sweeping bend on the Zambezi River.

    Guest Accommodations: Each room is open-plan and beautifully decorated with furniture and fittings made from Rhodesian teak wood and include wifi access and a sitting area. Large mosquito nets swathe the beds combined with an electric fan and air-conditioner/heating units to provide a comfortable flow of air above the beds. Each room has a bath, shower and “loo with a view” over looking the river. Screen doors can be opened to give unimpeded views.

    7 Riverside chalets with downstairs bathroom and second toilet on bedroom level.

    2 River suites with teak decks and plunge pools.

    1 Family suite with teak deck and plunge pool, second bedroom with twin beds & outdoor shower.

    Activities:
    Included in the cost: Tour of the falls, sunset cruise, African village visit, game drives into Mosi-oa-Tunya, fishing trips, tennis court. Activities available at the falls but not included in your cost are: Livingstone Island visit, Chobe full day trip, canoeing safaris, rhino walk, white water rafting, helicopter and microlight flights over Victoria Falls, horse rides, all adrenalin activities: gorge swing, bungie, jet boating, kayaking.

    DAY 3 DEPART

    Your Victoria Falls safari comes to an end this morning as you transfer back to Victoria Falls Airport (from Ilala Lodge) OR Livingstone Airport (from River Club or Tongabezi), where you will continue under your own arrangements.

    Rothschild Safaris: Terms and Conditions applicable on all tours. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

    Deposit Requirements: 20% per person deposit is required to confirm the booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
