    DAY 1 TRAVEL DAY – TO AFRICA

    DAYS 2, 3, 4 CAPE TOWN

    Welcome to Africa! Your Southern Africa & Botswana safari continues as you arrive in Cape Town, South Africa you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Cape Grace Hotel for your three night stay.

    About the Cape Grace Boutique Hotel: This boutique hotel delivers all the creature comforts you’d expect from world class luxury accommodation in Cape Town and lots of little extras too. Backed by iconic Table Mountain and perfectly positioned on a private quay in the center of Cape Town’s vibrant V&A Waterfront.

    Accommodation Type & Location: Boutique Hotel located between the working harbor of Cape Town’s bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the serenity of an international yacht marina.

    Guest Accommodations: 120 guest rooms & suites complete with a fully stocked private bar and mini-deli, French windows with views of the yacht marina or working harbor.     DAY 5, 6, 7 OKAVANGO DELTA

    This morning, your Botswana safari continues as you transfer back to Cape Town International Airport, where you will connect with your flight to Maun, Botswana via Johannesburg. On arrival in Maun, you will be met by your guide and assisted to your light aircraft flight to Little Vumbura Camp (a flight of approximately 35 minutes), for your next three nights.

    About Little Vumbura Camp: An intimate escape hidden on a picturesque island surrounded by the floodplains and deep, clear channels for which the Okavango Delta is so famed. This Botswana safari camp also has a plunge pool and reading area overlook the floodplains and a star deck leads off the dining area.

    Accommodation Type & Location:Permanent Tented Camp situated in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, on this Botswana safari.

    Guest Accommodations: Six luxurious Botswana safari tents shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango Delta forest, with en-suite bathroom facilities.

    Activities: Activities included on this Botswana safari are water-based activities are a focus at Little Vumbura Camp with mokoros traversing the floodplains under the guidance of experienced polers. Motor boats excursions are also available, making their way up and down the permanent channels. Game drives in open Land Rovers allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas. Walks (on request) around the islands are an opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective.

    Wildlife: Game viewing is consistently good all year round at Little Vumbura Camp with lion, leopard, elephant, sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game providing an excellent all-round wildlife experience in this remote corner of the Okavango Delta.

    About the Okavango Delta:
    On this Botswana safari, The Okavango is the largest inland delta in the world, its labyrinth of lagoons, lakes and channels covering an area of almost 7000 square miles. Its spectacular annual flood peaks in July and the Delta’s wooded islands and open grasslands surrounded by the parched Kalahari are a magnet for wildlife and it one of the great game destinations in Africa. This Botswana safari is absolutely NOT to be missed!

    DAYS 8, 9, 10 LINYANTI RESERVE

    After breakfast and your Botswana safari continues with a morning game drive, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the Linyanti Reserve and Selinda Camp for your three night stay (a flight of approximately 30 minutes).

    About Selinda Camp: On this Botswana safari, there are few places in northern part of the country as dynamic as the Selinda Reserve. A relaxed, yet luxurious tented Botswana safari camp, Selinda has established itself as one of the gems in the region. The shaded camp affords extraordinary views over the Selinda Reserve’s prolific floodplains and savannas. The extensive raised decks, surrounding both the main lounge and guest tents, allow you to enjoy a meal or a relaxing afternoon while still enjoying wildlife viewing. There is a hardly a moment in camp where there isn’t an animal in sight!

    Accommodation Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp located on the banks of the eastern Selinda Spillway in the 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana

    Guest Accommodations: Nine sturdy, canvas Botswana safari tents shaded with thatch roofing and raised on wooden decks. Each tent comes with a private verandah, lounge and en-suite bathroom facilities, with dual basin vanity, stone bath and antique shower

    Activities: Activities on this Botswana safari include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, bush walks and boating activities (water levels permitting)

    Wildlife: On this Botswana safari at Selinda Camp, it is possible to see a tremendous diversity of species, from resident prides of lion to huge herds of elephant and packs of wild dog. It is also home to the ungulates, from the rare roan to the ubiquitous zebra. Nocturnal wildlife is prolific as well and there are frequent sightings of aardwolf and civet.

    About the Selinda Reserve:
    There are few places in northern Botswana as dynamic as the Selinda Reserve, which is centered on the famous Selinda Spillway, which weaves its way east, linking the far reaches of the Okavango Delta in the south with the Linyanti water systems in the east. The Selinda Reserve is west (upstream) from Savute Channel and Chobe, so it has all the advantages of both of those famous areas on this Botswana safari but with the tremendous advantage of exclusivity. It is a truly spectacular and unique landscape.

    DAYS 11 & 12 VICTORIA FALLS

    After breakfast and your morning game drive, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kasane (a flight of approx 40 minutes), where you connect with your light air transfer to Livingstone, Victoria Falls. Upon arrival in Livingstone you are met and transferred to Tongabezi Lodge for two nights.

    About Tongabezi Lodge: Privately owned and run. Each house and cottage has its own valet who takes care of guests throughout their stay and act as a private concierge. There is no set pattern to days at Tongabezi.

    Accommodation Type & Location: Luxury Safari Lodge near Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River.

    Guest Accommodations: There are 2 types of accommodations. 5 Houses: located on the edge of the Zambezi River, the houses are open fronted looking out onto the Zambezi, at night a mosquito net is hung around your bed, this is the ultimate way to sleep in Africa. All houses have private en-suite bathrooms. For those who are nervous to sleep in the open fronted rooms there are the cottages – 5 River Cottages, these are close-fronted with gauze netting in the windows, however you still get to hear the sounds of the bush at night. Cottages have private en-suite bathrooms.

    Activities: Included in the Southern Africa & Botswana safari cost: Tour of the falls, canoeing on the Zambezi, Island lunch, Sanpan floating candlelit dinner, visit to Mukuni Park, sunrise & sunset boating, Simonga village visit, fishing, game drive into Mosi-oa-Tunya and market visits. Activities available at the falls but not included in your cost are: Livingstone Island visit, Elephant trails, Chobe full day trip, white water rafting, helicopter and microlight flights over Victoria Falls, horse rides, fly fishing, day visit to Chobe National Park, all adrenalin activities: gorge swing, bungie, jet boating, kayaking.

    About Victoria Falls:
    Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya” — the smoke that thunders and the Falls are remarkable. Victoria Falls is 1,708 meters wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. It drops between 90m and 107m into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 550,000 cubic meters of water plummet over the edge every minute.
