    DAY 1 TRAVEL DAY – TO AFRICA

    Your adventure begins today as you board your international flight to Africa.


     DAY 2 ADDIS ABABA

    Welcome to Africa! Today you will arrive in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia off your international flight and will be met by your guide and transferred to the Jupiter International Hotel for one night.

    DAY 3 BAHIR DAR

    Today you will fly from Addis to Bahir Dar and visit the Blue Nile Falls before lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip on Ethiopia’s largest body of water – Lake Tana (3,600 Km Sq) to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret (14th Century AD) and Azwa Mariam (14th Century AD).

    Abay Minch Lodge is situated in the centre of Bahar Dar, close to Lake Tana. Abay Minch is a new lodge with wonderful green gardens and a spacious compound.

    The rooms are in small bungalows and is kept very peaceful. There is a restaurant that serves both local and international meals for your taste preferences. For evening relaxation, there is a bar to lounge at as well as a conference room for any of your business needs.

    DAY 4 GONDAR

    Today you will drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar – the 17th century capital of Ethiopia. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Castle Compound of Gondar (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the ‘Bath of Emperor Fasiladas’, the church of Quskuam Mariam (17th century AD), the residence of Empress Mintwab, and the church of Debre Birhan Sillassie which is famous for its wall and ceiling paintings.

    DAY 5 SIMIEN MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK/GONDAR

    Today you will take an excursion to the breathtaking Simien Mountains and get a chance to see the endemic mammal of Ethiopia – the Gelada Baboon. On your way back to Gondar, make a stop at the village of the Felasha or Black Jews.

    DAY 6 AXUM

    This morning you will fly to Axum, the most ancient capital of Ethiopia. Your sightseeing tour of Axum will include visiting the Archaeological Museum of Axum, the famous Stele Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Church of St. Mary of Zion, which is believed to be the last resting place of the original Ark of the Covenant, the palace and tomb of King Kaleb and Gebre Meskel (6th Century AD), and the ruin palace of the Queen of Sheba (9th Century BC).

    DAY 7 LALIBELA

    In the morning you will fly to Lalibela – home of the 12th century AD rock hewn churches of King Lalibela. And in the afternoon, visit the second and the third group of churches of King Lalibela (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

    DAY 8 LALIBELA

    In the morning, take a mule ride to the hilltop semi monolithic church of Asheton Mariam (13th century AD). Getting to the top of the hill rewards one with great and unforgettable scenery of the area. In the afternoon, visit the remaining second and the third group of the churches of Lalibela.

    DAY 9 YOUR JOURNEY ENDS

    Your Ethiopia safari comes to an end as you fly back to Addis and have a half-day city tour of Addis that includes visiting the National Archeological Museum of Addis Ababa, Merkato – the largest open-air market in Africa, and driving to Mt. Entoto (3,200 meters) to have a panoramic view of the capital. In the evening, you will be invited a farewell dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants of Addis to see the folkloric dances of the Ethiopian people and to taste the variety of meals of the Ethiopian people.

    Deposit Requirements: 20% per person deposit is required to confirm the booking. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
