Your safari begins today as you board your international flight to Africa.
DAY 2 ARUSHA
Welcome to Africa! On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Mount Meru Game Lodge for the evening.
About Mount Meru Game Lodge: One of Arusha’s first safari lodges, Mount Meru provides inviting accommodations with a classic safari ambience. The lodge adjoins a private wildlife sanctuary and you can watch zebra, eland, ostrich and warthog from your room’s verandah or the lodge’s terraced lawn. The lodge also features an al fresco dining area shaded by giant mangos, a bar/lounge with enormous picture windows, private gazebo, pool and gift boutique.
Accommodation Type & Location: Safari lodge on the outskirts of Arusha just 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Guest Accommodations: The lodge has 17 guest rooms with en-suite bathroom, veranda, four-poster, wrought iron beds with fitted mosquito nets and continental quilts.

DAYS 3 & 4 LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK & NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast you will be met by your guide and driven thorough the pastoral Tanzanian countryside to Ngorongoro Plantation Lodge for your next two nights with a stop along the way at scenic Lake Manyara National Park. Tomorrow is devoted to a full day exploration of Ngorongoro Crater.
About Ngorongoro Plantation Lodge: The lodge rests among soft, red-brown hills amid the rich farming country of Tanzania’s Crater Highlands. Everywhere you look you can see and feel the personal attention lavished on this owner-run lodge decorated and furnished in the style of a lavish colonial estate.
Camp Type & Location: Safari lodge located at the foot of the southern flank of Ngorongoro Crater.
Guest Accommodations: Sixteen rooms lie generously distributed throughout the plantation’s lawns and flowering gardens. Each room is individually decorated with en-suite baths, some with private verandas.
Activities: Full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. Optional activities (extra cost) include bird watching, coffee plantation tour and expert massage.
Wildlife: Ngorongoro Crater is home to all of Africa’s Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo – plus hyena, jackal, eland, wildebeest, zebra, impala, gazelle and hundreds of bird species including seasonal flocks of flamingos on Lake Magadi.
About Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara is a scenic park in northern Tanzania whose majestic forests and lakeside plains are set at the foot of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. It is home to an unusual range of habitats and is famous for its elephants, tree climbing lions and seasonal flocks of thousands of flamingos.
About Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is a 100 square mile natural amphitheater in northern Tanzania created 2 million years ago when a volcano imploded leaving a 12 mile wide crater surrounded by an unbroken 2,000-foot high rim. It is home to 30,000 wild animals and provides outstanding game viewing in every season in a spectacular natural setting.

DAYS 5, 6, 7 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you will be driven through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Ndutu Safari Lodge with a stop on the way at Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s discovery of the remains of some of mankind’s earliest ancestors. You will arrive for your three night stay in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Tomorrow will be spent exploring the Serengeti’s wildlife riches and searching for the Great Migration that typically centers here from December to May.
About Ndutu Safari Lodge: The lodge is located in the southern Serengeti ecosystem and nestles unobtrusively under a canopy of giant acacias overlooking seasonal Lake Ndutu. The lodge offers a superb base for exploring the area’s marshes, woodlands and the world famous Serengeti short grass plains. The camp features a stylish open-sided dining room, lounge/bar and cozy evening campfires.
Camp Type & Location: This safari lodge is in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area next to the southern border of Serengeti National Park.
Guest Accommodations: Thirty-four single story stone cottages built with local materials offer comfortable, unpretentious accommodations. Each has en-suite baths and private verandahs facing Lake Ndutu.
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in traditional safari vehicles, guided bush walks.
Wildlife: The Serengeti is host to the spectacular annual migration of millions of wildebeest and tens of thousands of zebra and gazelle. The park’s resident wildlife includes all the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo – plus cheetah, hyena, jackal, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, topi, hartebeest, waterbuck, impala, bushbuck, eland, warthog and hundreds of bird species.
About Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is Africa’s most famous national park. It covers 5700 square miles in northwestern Tanzania stretching all the way to the Kenya border. Its vast grassland plains are the heart of the annual Great Migration where over a million wildebeest and tens of thousands of zebra and gazelle move throughout the year in search of fresh grazing.
Overnight: Ndutu Safari Ldoge (B, L, D)
DAYS 8, 9, 10 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
This morning you will be driven into Serengeti National Park to Nomad Serengeti Safari Lodge, where you will enjoy your final three nights on safari. The camp moves seasonally with the Great Migration. December to May the camp is in the southern Serengeti. As the dry season starts in June the camp moves north, ending near the Kenyan border from late August through October. No matter when you travel you will perfectly positioned to witness this world famous wildlife spectacle up close and personal.
About Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp: Shadowing the seasonal movements of the Serengeti’s vast wildebeest migration, this intimate camp is a simple blend of form and function dedicated to world class game viewing. With your own private guide and vehicle, your days unfold exactly as you like – on all-day game drives leaving at first light and returning at dusk, or with leisurely sleep-ins and brunch in camp followed by a siesta and a gentle evening game drive – it’s all up to you.
Camp Type & Location: Mobile tented camp in Serengeti National Park.
Guest Accommodations: Just six walk-in Meru style tents each with a dressing area, en-suite bathroom, flush toilets, bucket showers and jugs of hot and cold water delivered whenever you want them.
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives with a private guide and private 4wd safari vehicle.
Wildlife: Expect to see huge herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle along with the Serengeti’s extraordinary variety resident game including elephant, giraffe, buffalo, leopard, impala, topi, eland, hippo, crocodile, warthog, cheetah, leopard and Africa’s largest lion population. Over 400 bird species have been identified in the park.
