Your safari begins today as you board your international flight to Africa.
DAY 2 NAIROBI
Welcome to Africa! As you arrive in Nairobi, Kenya, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Nairobi Country Lodge for your one-night stay.
About Nairobi Country Lodge: The Country Lodge offers clean comfortable accommodations in a location far from the busy streets of downtown Nairobi. Décor is minimalist and modern with a stunning black and white entrance, stainless steel railing and beech laminate flooring.
Camp Type & Location: Hotel located in a quite location on Upper Hill in the heart of Nairobi.
Guest Accommodations: Single Rooms, Double Rooms and Family Rooms. Each well designed en-suite room has a spacious bed, Swedish duvet, European sound proofing, a large desk with built-in US receptacles, phone, 1 MB wi-fi, electronic safe, satellite TV and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom is a modern design with a large shower and granite vanity.

DAYS 3 & 4 SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
This morning, you will be met by our representative in your hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for your flight to Samburu National Reserve, where you will enjoy your two night stay at Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp.
About Samburu Intrepids: Located 345 kilometers north of Nairobi, the journey to the camp involves a 50-minute flight to the Samburu airstrip followed by a 20-minute drive through the reserve.
Camp Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp located within the Samburu National Reserve
Guest Accommodations: 30 spacious tents under palm-thatched roofs with netted screens, on stilted raised decks with private verandah overlooking the brown river, each with en-suite bathroom facilities and flush toilet
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in traditional safari vehicles, Nature walks, camel rides (extra cost), village visits (extra cost).
Wildlife: Herds of elephants and the big cats roam the plains with the Samburu special – the Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and the long necked antelope, the gerenuk easily seen despite its harsh climes.
About Samburu Game Reserve
Samburu is located 60 miles north of Mount Kenya where the land is hot and dry. The reserve is watered by the Ewaso Ngiro River who’s green, palm-lined path winds through parched acacia scrub and sparse golden grasslands. This is the home of proud Samburu pastoralists and arid land adapted wildlife not found in Kenya’s southern game areas like beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk and the reticulated giraffe.
Overnight: Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp (B, L, D)
DAYS 5 & 6 MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
After breakfast and your morning game viewing activity, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Karen Blixen Camp for your next two nights.
About Karen Blixen Camp: An authentic ‘yesteryear’ experience, the camp is set on the banks of the Mara River. The camp give a feeling of the early 1920’s with beautiful and comfortable furniture. The stylish restaurant, reception, lounge, and bar area are furnished with accurate reproductions of Karen Blixen’s private furniture to fit with the cozy atmosphere. During you stay at Karen Blixen you may see elephants, giraffes, zebra and impala come for a drink while a large hippo pod rest lazily in the river.
Camp Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp on the banks of the Mara River.
Guest Accommodations: 22 large luxury canvas tents – each set on a beautiful wooden platform with a spacious veranda. On the cushion daybeds one can enjoy an afternoon siesta, taking in the wonderful surroundings. Each tent is en-suite with flush toilet and a romantic outside shower. Electricity is provided in all tents 24 hours a day. The family unit consists of two tents with a shared veranda. All tents are placed with undisturbed view along the Mara River.
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in traditional safari vehicles, lion watching, game walks, nature walks, birding, hot air balloon safaris, community visits and eco camp walks.
Wildlife: Vast numbers of herbivores as large elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and antelopes who graze the plentiful grasslands of the Mara. With the big cat predators luring in the bush always ready to hunt down their favored prey.
About the Maasai Mara Game ReserveThe Maasai Mara is one of the most popular reserves in the whole of Africa. Its ‘big skies’, rolling savannahs, annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra, the sheer density of other game and predators and the tall red-robed Maasai people all combine to preserve its unforgettable magic.
Overnight: Karen Blixen Cottages (B, L, D)
DAYS 7 & 8 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After your morning game drive, you will transfer to the airstrip for you light aircraft light back to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi, you will connect with your schedule flight to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will meet up with your guide who will be with you for the remainder of your Tanzania Safari. He will transfer you to Tarangire and Maramboi Tented Camp for your two night stay.
About Maramboi Tented Camp: The camp offers stunning views of the Manyara National Park, Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and on clear days even Oldonyo Lengai a sacred mountain to the Maasai.
Camp Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp located between Tarangire National park and Lake Manyara.
Guest Accommodations: Ten spacious tents built on ample wooden decks, all with en-suite facilities and private verandah.
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in traditional safari vehicles, guided walking safaris, bird watching and culture interactions with Datoga and Maasai tribes.
Wildlife: Herds of up to 300 elephants, migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland abound, fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk, a smorgasbord for predators.
About Tarangire National Park:
Tarangire covers 1100 square miles of savannah grasslands, open acacia woodland and ancient Baobab trees in northern Tanzania. During the June to November dry season, huge numbers of animals are drawn to the Tarangire River. Elephant herds of 300 can be seen along with 550 bird species and tree climbing pythons.
Overnight: Maramboi Tented Camp (B, L, D)
DAYS 9 & 10 NGORONGORO CRATER
This morning, you will transfer with your guide to Ngorongoro Crater, stropping along the way to visit some of the local villages. This afternoon, you will continue on to the Ngorongoro Plantation Lodge, where you will enjoy your next two nights.
About Ngorongoro Plantation Lodge: The lodge rests on the soft, red-brown hills amidst the vastness and silence of East Africa. Everywhere you look, you can see and even feel the personal atmosphere of this owner-run lodge with furnishings that were selected with great attention to detail.
Camp Type & Location: Lodge located a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Guest Accommodations: Sixteen rooms lie generously distributed throughout the flowering garden, some with verandas and direct access to the garden. Each room has its own style and private bathroom facilities.
Activities: Full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Optional activities available include: birdwatching, a coffee plantation visit, visit a working farm, and massage (for additional cost).
Wildlife: Some 25,000 animals live in the caldera which has a diameter of 19 kilometers. Lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, black rhino, hippo. Buffalo, eland, gemsbok.
About Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is a 100 square mile natural amphitheatre in northern Tanzania created 2 million years ago when a volcano imploded leaving a 12 mile wide crater surrounded by an unbroken 2,000-foot high rim. It is home to 30,000 wild animals and provides outstanding game viewing in every season in a spectacular natural setting.

DAYS 11 & 12 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, your journey will continue to the Olduvai Gorge for a tour, you then continue with an optional stop at a Masai village en-route to the Serengeti National Park. This afternoon you will end up at the Serengeti Tented Camp for two nights.
About Serengeti Tented Camp: Comfortable accommodation and a unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari camp experience. Meals are served in the cozy mess tent isolated in the center of the camp. The campfire is prepped and ready every evening for appetizers and snacks before dinner.
Camp Type & Location: Permanent Tented Camp located in Central Serengeti, strategically located to cover the vast Serengeti Plains.
Guest Accommodations: Twenty spacious tents, each with en-suite bathroom facilities. King or twin beds, bucket shower, hand basin and flush toilet are attached to the back of the tent. Lighting is supplied by solar lights.
Activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in traditional safari vehicles and visits to an authentic Maasai village or full day game drives.
Wildlife: Serengeti is host to the largest most spectacular annual migration of wildebeest. Over two million herbivores partake in this journey, including wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle. Serengeti’s resident wildlife includes big cats, giraffe, buffalo, topi, hartebeest, waterbuck, impala, reedbuck, bushbuck, dikdik, hippopotamus, crocodile, warthog, and diverse wildlife.
About Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is Africa’s most famous national park. It covers 5700 square miles in northwestern Tanzania stretching all the way to the Kenya border. Its vast grassland plains are the heart of the annual Great Migration where over a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and impala move throughout the year in search of fresh grazing.

Day 13 Your Journey Ends
Bid farewell to the Serengeti and your guide as you depart on your light aircraft flight back to Kilimanjaro. On arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will connect with your international flight to the USA. *Optional day use room available on request depending on your departure flight time.
