LEORA
Leora began her explorations into the wilderness as a small child, living in South Africa. Her passion for wildlife led her into a career with Abercrombie & Kent where she arranged exotic travel for people all over the world which led to escorting small elite groups into the remote corners of Africa. Needing a challenge Leora moved to the USA to pursue her career in travel but from the other side of the spectrum.
Ultimately Rothschild Safaris was founded and its mission from inception has been to lead travelers into the unspoiled wilderness areas of Africa. “Our goal is to show our clients the kind of Africa I knew as a little girl”. Rothschild Safaris only works with camps & lodges in Africa who are set on helping and preserving the wildlife & people. “I truly feel that part of the success of Rothschild Safaris is due to the fact that we treat every client like we would a personal friend, we create amazing experiences for each client.”
I love the raw beauty of Africa and that is what I strive to show each client who travels with us.
Leora travels to Africa about twice a year to explore where Rothschild Safaris is sending her clients and is incredibly critical of any camps or lodges that do not
hold up to expected standards. “It is so easy for a camp to be amazing one year and the next to be falling apart at the seams, it is our job to ensure we keep on top of things and we do that well.” If Leora travels to Africa and finds a camp not up to the standard she will move her clients into a different camp at no cost. Leora has evolved Rothschild Safaris into a knowledge leader in the industry.
Each year travel agents and other institutions, such as colleges, utilize Rothschild Safaris’ direct knowledge to ensure their most important clients have an experience of a lifetime by traveling through a customized itinerary of Africa.
LOU
Lou made his first safari almost 20 years ago and his passion for Africa has never waned. He has paddled the Zambezi, rode the rapids below Victoria Falls, dived with great white sharks, drank cattle blood with the Masaai, patted the nose of a wild black rhino and been charged by elephants in 3 countries—Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe. With over 30 years’ experience as a traveler and a dozen in the travel business, Lou knows what it takes to make sure you have the safari of a lifetime—knowledge of lodges, camps, countries, climate, scenery, attractions, wildlife, parks and reserves; honesty in assessing their individual pros and cons; attention to the details of cost, safety and logistics and a keen desire to make sure every client gets exactly the kind of travel experience they want and deserve.
KIMI
Kimi identified her love of travel, wildlife and thrill for adventure at a very young age. Kimi is game for just about anything and everything whether it is skydiving over her beloved Rocky Mountains, riding a helicopter over Victoria Falls, cruising down the Chobe River or walking with elephants in Botswana. Kimi’s excitement and passion for Africa make her a delight to work with when it comes to organizing “dream vacations” for our clients.
“One of the most amazing moments in my life was standing under and looking up at a huge bull elephant in the wilds of Africa, nothing could possibly stimulate your senses more!” When she is not assisting Rothschild clients, Kimi enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, developing her yoga practice, and naturally, exploring new travel destinations.
MICHAEL

Michael is in charge of Rothschild Safaris business development strategies and philanthropic activities for the company. He continually monitors the strength of organizations and tracks their results and modifies the company’s support to align with which groups are creating the best experiences and results. He enjoys annual trips to Africa and attempts to reach additional continents each year always in search of the best travel experiences and organizations to partner with.
TERESA

Teresa has been involved in every aspect of the business from setting up clients’ itineraries to marketing. Teresa currently works on consulting projects with Rothschild Safaris. Having traveled extensively around the world for both business and personal trips, Teresa understands what it’s like to be the client, and is very particular about making sure the entire experience is perfect—from the preparation materials and logistics, to the accommodations and food, to the activities, to the guides. Her first experience with Africa was spending a month doing volunteer work in Malawi and going on safari to Zambia and Botswana and it was “love at first sight” with this fabulous continent! The first things to strike her were the smiles of the children, the stunning sunsets and the thrill of getting that perfect photo of an animal so up close.
The diversity of adventures and experiences is something Teresa seeks in her travels and strives to provide for clients of Rothschild Safaris.
