Bio Leora Stamp

Leora Rothschild can possibly be bought with chocolate.

And that isn’t her only superpower. She also runs a company of highly opinionated, strong, incredibly intelligent, passionate women… by choice.

And she manages them remotely.

Rumor has it that the force resides in the crazy beautiful and notoriously untamable curls which she inherited from her mother.

Decades after she started Rothschild Safaris in her living room, she is still available every hour, of every day, to every guest, who travels with the company.

Travel is not simply a business she happens to be in.

A life without the ability to explore and discover and share the world with others would be her kryptonite.

What makes Leora the best in the business?

A native South African, she followed her dream of sharing the Africa she loves with others and founded Rothschild Safaris in America in 1998.

Growing up in Africa, some of her favorite memories include a camping trip in Kruger National Park.

“There was nothing fancy about that trip, we ate our meals around a bush fire and slept on the ground. It was wonderful. During the day we walked for miles, coming close to lions on foot. I still recall that look of panic on my mom’s face!”

Travel has changed since then, now we often incorporate rooms with private plunge pools, and sleeping on the floor isn’t really a part of our trips. While the accommodations have gotten better, the flame that started this all is still very much alive and drives how we construct trips for our travelers.

Leora is still a part of every Rothschild Safaris trip and can often be found adding final little touches to an itinerary.

She ensures that all her Safari specialists incorporate a taste of the wild Africa she knew as a child. This is one of many aspects that makes Rothschild Safaris so unique.

With Rothschild Safaris, Leora has created a company that believes knowing a destination well entails more than only knowing the camp or hotel. The Travel Designer has also explored the little shops nearby and met the local artists, and community.

“You need to know the right people, because when you need something to happen quickly you better know who to call!”

A great travel company keeps a finger on the pulse of destinations and spend several months of every year traveling, building those relationships and keeping up to date.

“Every day we are inspired to show the incredible beauty of this world to our travelers. I work with such an amazing team of women, not a day passes where I don’t feel blessed to be surrounded by all these wonderful professionals who share my passion for travel.”

When Leora is not on the road vetting out new destinations she splits her time between the USA and Australia, enjoying family life, and working on exciting new challenges.

Leora’s expertise has earned her a place in the Travel + Leisure A-List for multiple years.
